ഇന്ത്യയിൽ സെൻട്രൽ ഗവർമെന്റും വിവിധ സ്റ്റേറ്റ് ഗവർമെന്റുകളും നടപ്പിലാക്കി വന്നിരുന്ന വിവിധ തരം പരോക്ഷ നികുതികൾ സംയോജിപ്പിച്ചു ഒരു ഒറ്റ നികുതി സംവിധാനമായതാണ് ജി.സ്. ടി. ജി. സ്. ടി നടപ്പിലായതു വഴി ഡബിൾ ടാക്സഷൻ ഒഴിവാക്കാനും രാജ്യം മൊത്തം ഒരു ഒറ്റ നികുതി സംവിധാനത്തിനു കീഴിലാക്കാനും സാധിച്ചു. ജി സ് ടി നടപ്പിലാക്കിയതു വഴി താഴെ പറയുന്ന നികുതികൾ പൂർണ്ണമായും ഇല്ലാതെയായി.
